Description
Beginning in 2006, multimedia installations in gutted homes were presented by a coalition of New Orleans artists. The "Neighborhoods" project, originated by Robert Vicknair, is a series of one-night-only site-specific art and sound installations in the homes of New Orleanians that have returned and hope to rebuild. <p>
The first project, "Neighborhoods: Holy Cross," was created at the home of Kathleen Kraus. The second installation, "Neighborhoods: Gentilly," was held January 13, 2007, at the home of Belinda, Joe, and their daughter Leah in Gentilly. The third installation, "Neighborhoods: 2426 Bradish Place," was held May 19, 2007, at 2426 Bradish Place, in the old industrial corridor of Mid City.
