I still remember clearly about a devastating storm, Harricane Katrina and the questions brought up among people after that. \r\nWhen it happened I was in Canada with my fiance\'s family from Caribbean island. We were watching TV broadcasting the aftermath of Katrina and we started arguing about why the nation\'s response was so delayed. The Katrina hit and especialy the poor people and the african american community in New Orleans has been suffering. What if the disaster had happened in a different place like Texas(President Bush\'s hometown)? The disaster relief would have been so delayed? Are there any reasons relating to a deep race issue in the US or financial issue becasue of too much expense for Iraqi war(the aim was skeptical though)? \r\nListening to the family\'s arguement I was thinking about my own country case. I\'m from Japan so I have many experiences of Typhoon. What the difference between Japan and US government is the quickenss of the disaster relief. When a natural disaster happens somewhere in Japan, the government sends the help to the region quickly to save people\'s lives and let them evacuate from the area. Or even before the typhoon hit, the preventive measures of the local citizens and government seem like to be more steady. I think Japan has serious natural disasters like earthquake and typhoon almost everyday everywhere every year so the risk management of each person, local, and government is laid over Japan. \r\n\r\nThere is no perfect government or country in the world. But as a foreigner living in the US, the United States has a lots of issues relating the huge gap between poor and rich and consequently it deviding area each person lives, education and health care level etc..and also the huge isuue of racism unfortunately still remain. \r\n\r\nThis Katrina left US nation many questions toward its own government, its people\'s prejudice to the others and its capitalism framework society. \r\n\r\nI really hope all people who got damaged psycologically, physically and financially by these disasters can recover from the difficulties as soon as possible. And hope the US government listens to our voice and consider it for the better future.
