I decided to stay in my home durning the storm because if the storms would have been as bad as they could have been, I was there to help others in my community. I was fortunated though and the situation didn\'t get as bed as other parts of New Orleans and the other Gulf Coasts regions that were affected by the storms. I lucked out and was safe on the West Bank of New Orleans. Besides giving some of my neighbors food and water the only thing else I could do was to wait the situation out in my home. \r\n The reason I\'m still living here in this region despite the naturally devastion from the storms is because this is my home. This is were my family past and present were born and raised. This is the place were I was born, grew up most of my life, where I graduated from High School, and were I will graduate from college. Hopefully, this will be the same place where I start and raise my family. We come from and live in a beautiful city that is lucky to have made it through a storm. New Orleans could have very easily been swept away, and our historic homes and businesses that we see and take for granted sometimes, would have been lost along with its rich history. \r\n
