About three weeks before Hurricane Rita I was removed from my home and placed into another home in Vidor,TX. I am a foster child and used to live with my brothers with a family memeber. We all heard about the hurricane but no one believe we would be hit by this monsterous storm. Wednesday in the middle of class a annoucement came on saying we were leaving school early because of hurricane Rita. My family and I evacuated to Clarksville, TN. We left Thursday morning and arrived in TN Saturday morning. MYbrothers did not evacuate so I had no way of communicating with them oldest was 13, but he is mentally challenged. We came back three weeks after the hurricane, that was when we recieved lihgts. We came back we were devastated of the results of the hurricane. When we came home we found a dead dog in our pool, which came up missing the day of the huricane. We learned our family was fine , even though som lost their homes.
