When we heard that Hurricane Rita was going to hit us, my mom said that we were going to stay here and ride the hurricane out. Eventually she ended up changing her mind and me and my whole family evacuated. We evacuated to Claud, Tx we stayed there for about a week then we took a bus to Houston ,Tx. My mom was going to make me go to school in houston but I said no because then i\'ll be the new girl and everybody would stay and plus I wouldn\'t have any friends I wouldn\'t know anybody. So she changed her mind about that and I was happy, because i didn\'t want to go to a different school. When we came back to Vidor I was glad to see that my house was still here and my dog survived also. The only bad part of it was that we had to sleep outside for a couple of days but i guess i was just happy that my house was still thee i didn\'t mind at all. Hurricane Rita was my first hurricane to be in, it wasn\'t scary well i guess if you count that not knowing if you have a house to come back to or not is kind of scary.
