Whenever my parents and I first found out that Hurricane Rita was coming straight for us we didn\'t know what to think. We first got together and called all of our relatives and made sure that everybody knew. Once we got the attention of the rest of our family, we started to think about where we could evacuate. We decided to relocate to my aunt and uncle\'s house in Center, TX it is about 75 miles from my house. Before we evacuated we made sure to know where the rest of my family would be going, most of them went with us, but some of the went to Junction, TX which is the home of our deer ranch, and some of the rest of my family didn\'t even leave there house at all. Whenever the hurricane actually hit land, we never thought we would get and wind or rain that far away, was we wrong. The wind in Center was blowing around 85-95 miles an hour, trees were falling and snapping all around us, then suddenly we heard a huge crash. We all ran to the back of the house where we found there brand new barn torn to shreads, everything was caose. Whwnever the hurricane\'s winds slowed enough to walk in my parents and I loaded up and drove strait home to see the damage. The streets were covered with trees, powerlines, and all kinds of trash which made it nearly impossible for us to get around. Once we finally made it to our street there was no way to get around the trees and debris so we had to walk to our house, which amazingly had little damage. My mother was in tears, I didn\'t know why because our house was mainly unharmed, there were trees everywhere, but somehow the outside trashcans wern\'t even moved. We couldnt stay home long because there was no electricity or water so we went back to my aunt and uncle\'s house in Center for about 2 more weeks. Then we returned to Vidor to end up satying in a camper in my aunt Naidine\'s yard for about 3-4 more weeks with only a generator for a source of electricity. Finally they got the lights and water turned on at my house and we were able to return home to wait for the next hurricane season.
