my family decided to leave last minute.we didnt plan on leaving at all but i have one of those mothers who freak out over everything so we\'ll do pretty much anything to keep her quiet! dad had some distant cousins in woodville so we went up there. we thought we had went far enough to escape rita but she found us. there was no electricity for days up there so we figured if we were gonna suffer we\'d do it at home. we drove all the way to luffkin just to get gas then we had to take the back roads to get to vidor because all the roads were closed. we have a car and a truck we filled up both vehicles before we left. we ended up leaving moms car at home. anyway we\'re about 5 minutes from home and we see moms car drive by. theres a traylor park behind our house some peoples roof flew off so they decided to break into our house and make themselves at home.they took my moms keys off the dresser and was driving her car! mom was actually really nice about it she said she understood they had to get food and water but she was still pretty ticked. the car was now on empty our truck was too so we had no way to leave the house! we had plenty of food and water. it was just pretty miserable because of the no bath water. it sucks not being able to bathe at least when we were in woodville we bathed in the river.we bought a $700 generator but it was stollen over night. so we bought a cheep $300 one. electricity came back after a few weeks so we were ok. no school for a month whos complaining. the town was a little empty for a while but thing went back to normal.
