Hellicane: Poets Respond to Hurricane Katrina

Signs of the hurt and pain\r\nIn the eyes of the beloved people left alive\r\n\r\nTears that flow, like rushing rivers\r\nCries that are heard, like wolfs howling\r\n\r\nSo much is lost\r\nThe loss of loved ones, life especially\r\nSeeming like all is lost, and can\'t go on\r\n\r\nBut watch, the sun rises\r\nA new day that follows brightly\r\nThe sun that shines\r\nGiving hope that there can be light\r\nAt the end of this dark despair\r\n\r\nRebuilding on what life is left\r\nTo remember all what was\r\nAnd those that fell\r\n\r\nHope to a new life\r\nNew beginning, courage, strength\r\nAnd standing together as one united\r\n\r\nAs the sun shines on us\r\nThe light of hope to greater things\r\n\r\nAs our hearts beat on\r\nAnd hearts go out\r\nLife lives on\r\nStronger than ever\r\n\r\nWe can go on!\r\nWe will!\r\n\r\n
