Hellicane: Poets Respond to Hurricane Katrina

A sea of heartbroken faces\r\nGrief and sorrow filled the watery streets\r\nPeople\'s worried voices and cries filled the town\r\nMuddled cries of babies could be heard through the frightened voices\r\nPeople roamed the streets defenseless and low\r\nSome were grateful to have found their family and friends\r\nA lot lost everything they ever had\r\nHopeless and sleepy, Katrina\'s victims searched for families\r\nAnd abandoned their old lives and everything they ever knew\r\nSome wished that it was just a nightmare\r\nAnd will wake up and they will still have their loved ones right beside them\r\nLives ruined, hope for starting a new life swam through their hearts
