dare i celebrate\r\n(in true mardi gras style),\r\nwhile others wait\r\nin deepenin shades of sorrow?\r\n\r\n(second lines of hot/\r\nhungry/thirsty/weary folk\r\nwatch the music leave\r\nthe quarter they sang about,\r\nnotes of purple/green/\r\nyellow abandonin the\r\ncity they once loved,\r\nwonderin if they\'ll have a\r\nhome to go home to.)\r\n\r\nand all i can do\r\nis sit in air conditioned\r\ncomfort, writin sad\r\npoems of my own traumas\r\nthat i\'m goin through\r\n(worries about friends and if\r\nthey are all okay,\r\nwonderin if they made it) ...\r\n\r\nconcerns that mean NUTHIN to\r\nthose singin the blues\r\nin cesspools of violence --\r\ntalk about selfish\r\n\r\n\r\n
