I have many hurricane heroes. They are my Jester Dolls, thats what I call them, anyway. Because I live in Montgomery, when Katrina hit my vavorite city in the Southeast, probably even in the United States now, well...let us just say that the hurricane affected us, as well. I had a terrible dream that my best friend and I were drowning together and being devored by fish, as we sank even deeper, deeper still, we began to try to fight each other and we were trying to swim back to the top but at the same time we could not because we were too deep. as she floated up, I grabbed on to her and as I floated up she grabbed on to me and after that I felt a real and true physical death happening within my body, as if I could not wake up from the nightmare, but much, much worse...I could not escape from what I felt in my mind\'s eye, it seemed as if I were dreaming for hours the experience lasted so long. We tryed to survive by eating something, then we tried to eat each other, but that was not accomplishable. All of \"my\" hurricane heroes are my Jesters. as time goes by I care for them, cleansing the dullness and grime off of their faces, I adjust their clothing, they are my patients. I wanted to be a Doctor but now, I am an Artist. My worst memory of this all, at this point in time is that someone came into my studio, into my parent\'s house, and stole the only painting I ever did of one of them. She was \"Audrey Hepburn as a Jester.\"\r\nI am the first person who has applied for a little business here, in Montgomery,AL as an Artist, because, they claim, that all of their syrups come from New Orleans, I am hoping in earnest, to paint a few Jesters, or maybe ribbons or bells, a Crown maybe, on one of them. The place is painted yellow and the ceiling are pure gold (maybe-they look like it),and I feel like people are trying to sabotage me left and right. The first time I went to New Orleans, my boyfriend and I stayed at the Omni Royale and wandered around Bourbon Street and saw some live jazz bands play, went to a strip bar, and went to Jimmy Buffet\'s and Marie Louveua\'s Voudon Shoppe. Needless to say, for a first time experience in your magnificent city, we had a blast, even though he did not want to go to the Aquarium of the America\'s (which of course should be by all likelihood within the depths of the sea by now). The second trip I went on, years ago as well, with my Art Manager, we stayed at the Omni Royale again and the Doll Shop which used to be there was gone, so, as usual, we wandered around Bourbon Street again and again and again and finally found a store that sold dolls (there were only two there)and so I bought another Jester for my collection and a lovely ballerina doll for an ornament ( I suppose I should have used it as a Christmas tree ornament,but...I don\'t celebrate Christmas anymore)and then went back to the Omni Royale, can\'t remember the room number it was about 4 year\'s ago. Then he tryed to kill me but I escaped, went to the police station, hiding from Him. I took a taxicab all the way back to Montgomery and finally made it home to my Grandmother\'s house (where my studio is now) and was never able to pay my dead Grandmother back that $500.00...I don\'t have a favorite mardi Gras Memory because here in Montgomery we never really used to celebrate it in our house, we just watched New Orleans,LA on television.Which, frankly is totally uncool by my standards, but what would I know, right??? I love Anne Rice, she is my favourite author. Besides Oscar Wilde, but irregardless and nonetheless, I looked up this website on Google and it said \"tell us about your Katrina experience and how it affected you. So, the actual introduction to what I was writing was the answer to That question, you know about the nightmare and everything. \r\nMy hurricane hero is Louis the IV!
