February 6, 2006 \r\n\r\nThe Housing Authority of New Orleans is unlocking many public housing developments for former residents after weeks beyond the structures usability. These complexes include the Fischer low-rise and senior village, Guste hi-rise and low-rise, Hendee homes and River Gardens. In addition, HANO is preparing C.J. Peete and B.W. Cooper for reoccupancy. The grey metal barriers, which cover the windows and doors, are undeniably harsh indications of how decision-makers feel about public housing projects and possibly the people who call these complexes home.\r\n
