On August 28, 2005 my family and I decided that it would best if we left. We thought it was not worth the risk. Boy, we were right! There is no where to stay from here to Texas, so we slept at a rest area, in our car. The next morning as the strom was pounding our area we found a room in Shevport. My husband and could not stand not being able to contact his family, who decided that they would wait it out. We finally got in our hotel room and took a bath,we also got something to eat. At about 4:30pm he could not take it anymore, so him and I decided to head back home. We got on the road and the weather was great, we thought \"oh good it has past\". Once we got about 2 hours away from our hotel the bottom fell out. It was terrible, we could not see anything. The closer we the worse things looked. We finally made it to our road which barely recognized. There were trees everywhere. We could not see our driveway. My inlaws bought us a flashlight to go into our house. There was limbs through our roof, busted windows , and water everywhere. Once the shock wore off that a hurricane really came through and did that much damage to our state, we got busy fixing everything. We wereand are very lucky that we still had a house.
