Hurricane Besty flooded this neighborhood in 1965. We had 13 inches of water on the first floor. It was much different this time with Katrina. The flood water map showed 5.5 feet in the middle of the street. I wonder if the residents were evacuated by boat like my family, my dog and I were after Hurricane Betsy.
