I went back to Robert\'s apartment (my first visit there was on 10.23.05) to see if I could retrieve a memento he wanted. His apartment had 10\' 7\" of water in it and is completely ruined. The item he wanted, his deceased father\'s wallet, was in this drawer. The first thing you have to realize is that cabinets in flooded homes don\'t slide open anymore. This drawer was no exception and was swollen shut from the water that covered it during the flooding. I brought a hammer with me and used it to pry open the drawer enough to look into it. This was the first surprise of the day when I realized there was water in the drawer. The day I took this photo was ten weeks after Hurricane Katrina hit there... And the water was still filled to the top of this drawer!
