would like to go on the record though that the surge that hit my house was at least 50 feet. our home was 33\' above sea level. we had a 3 ft porch. the ceilings in the house were 12\' ceilings. when the house broke up the water was underneath my 2nd floor window sill....just inches. camille surged at 28\'. there was a marker in the harbour. and camille never made it into our home according to the local people. no one had any idea that the surge would be so high. we had a battery powered tv and radio and there never was a mention of it. we were one of the three highest points on the mississippi gulf coast. \r\n\r\nthat water below the 2nd floor window was not wave action either.....it flowed under the window consistantly like a river.....there were no troughs or peaks.....it was just flat.\r\n\r\n(text from an email sent to HDMB staff)
