sunday before the katrina we were still thinking if we should leave or not since this was our 4th time of leaving for hurricane. me and my dad didnt want to leave , however my mom and my brother didnt let us stay so we all left with 1 car , we drove to jackson and stayed there for 2 days , tuesday right after the katrina , we made back to new orleans by using side streets, because that time they would not let anybody in , however we made it. when we finally made it around our house we could not belive our eyes , we were right on the robert e lee , right before rally\'s by the bridge where levee was broken ( 17th street canal ) my house was couple of blocks away. when we saw all the water and everything , everybody , we all start crying , because that time in new orleans there was no help , people were on the roofs and some people were using their boats to rescue people , it was a horrible scene. we didnt have anywhere to go so we start driving back and not knowing where we were going , and we were in lafayyette in a gas station , when we met this guy ( charlie ) he asked us if we have anywhere to go , and he said he had a farm house in crancro that we could stay in , so with charlie\'s help we stayed in his old house for a month , when we rezlized we had rats all over the house my mom could not able to stay there anymore so we rented a small apartment with $400 a month\r\nwe stayed in this apartment for another month , at the same time i was trying to find a house in new orleans so we could come back and start living like regular people, after 2 months i found a house in kenner and we moved back , right now everything is getting better , although we lost our house our everything , everymemories , we are happy to have each other , and i wanna thank everybody in lafayette , louisiana for being so much helpfull , god bless everybody ......
