As I first looked down the street I grew up on, it had no resemblence to the peaceful old Metairie neighborhood I knew.It would be a long time before it did. This picture is unusual because the total calm- water, air, sounds- left a perfect reflection that seemed to capture how we all felt, not knowing which was right side up or upside down.
