Before Hurricane Katrina ever hit, my family and I left for Texas. We went online to book a hotel room and we managed to get one, and at the time everything seemed to be fine. When we got to the hotel, they told us that their website overbooked and that there were no more rooms. We had to sleep in our car for our first night in Texas. The next day, we got a call from my half-sister, who was staying at her relative\'s house. She invited us to stay for awhile, and so we did. Once they started to allow people to return to the city, we went back, but were unable to return to our neighborhood because of downed trees and power lines blocking the roads. We stayed at a nearby hotel, which had available rooms. We stayed there for a while before returning home. What we founded wasn\'t any major destruction, just a few tiles blown off the roof and a few leaks. Lucky for me, I live on the west bank and where I live didn\'t flood, we only received some wind damage.
