although i was not here during katrina i had family members who were living here at the time. after evacuation they left the city and were relocated in texas. the stayed there for 3 month. there apartment was not damaged by water but by theft. when they finally were able to come back they were not only disgusted by the things that happened to their apartment but by maggots which were everywhere. due to no having electricity everything in the refrigerator spoiled and maggots took over.
