We first evacuated to Birmingham Alabama. Then we stayed there for a couple of days and then went all the way to Houtson Texas for about a week. The hardest part about leaving was leaving my dad in New Orleans because he is a New Orleans Fireman, so it was really hard for us to do that. Then we went to Baton Rouge to meet up with my dad after the storm, that was the best feeling of my life when I saw that he was ok. We then went to Slidell to meet up with my Uncle and then we stayed there for over a month, I went to school in Slidell for a couple of weeks, then when I heard that Chapelle was taking boys for school I went there until January when Brother Martin opened up again. \r\n Katrina was probably the hardest thing for me to go through, with my dad not being with us and my grandma also, but luckily everybody in my family made it out safe and I hope nobody will have to go through what the people in the gulf region went through and are going through today with the oil spill.
