I was living in Colorado when hurricane Katrina devestated New Orleans. Although I did not lose any posessions it had huge affect on me and my friends. A high school buddy of mine was living in New Orleans the time of the hurricane. Feared for his safety I contacted with his mother and she assured me he was ok. Fortunatley he had family on the North Shore was able to evacuate. After the flood waters were gone he decided to start a construction company and help rebuild. With much of the city still evacuated he told myself and others back in Colorado of the oppritunities that awaited. Within the next two years six of us from Colorado were now Louisiana residents. We came to New Orleans looking to take advantage of the situation but as time went on we began embracing the culture and understand how much this city means to people. Out of the six I\'m positive a few of us will stay for life.
