My husband and i took a driving trip to Texas this past spring and decided to drive through new orleans bacause we always wanted to visit the beautiful old city\r\nAs we passed thru Hattiesburg Mississippi, we saw a field full of FEMA trailors, unoccupied, vacant.\r\nAs we approached the city, it was obvious that not much had happened in the way of reconstruction...\r\nPower to most street lights was out and we felt very scared to get all the way down to the french guarter.\r\nWe managed to get there, only to find people mobbing the streets, having lunch, drinking and having a gay old time\r\nWere is the sense in all this..We can afford to fund wars, send men to the moon etc etc and New Orleans is still in very sad shape..cars still sitting with the water line up to the roof\r\nMajor Nagin was offered a deal by some company to some in and remove all the cars in 3 months and the company would pay the city an amount of money..Nagin said no\r\nHe wants to contract out the job to another company that will cost the city millions\r\nI dont under stand how my country can turn its back on these people\r\nAt Jackson Square, where the Prez made his Mission Accomplished speech, there is a tin roof wrapped around a tree, all mangled into the branches...This makes no sense.\r\nWhen a Cat 5 storm hits your city, i hope there will be a plan that includes a plan \r\nNew Orleans had a plan and it failed...it doesnt matter who you point your finger at, they are ALL QUILTY
