This photo was taken at my house. It represents a packed box that my brother had labeled before we evacuated to Houston, Texas, for Hurricane Georges in 1998. I chose to include this photo because it includes some unique images that my brother had drawn himself (he was 9 at the time) and associated with the storm. Some of these images include references to the following: WWL News Channel 4 (a local New Orleans TV news station), The Weather Channel on channel 18, and NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program). My mother has referred to Hurricane Georges as, "The Pre-Katrina Hurricane," because of its similar path and its effect on the Chandeleur Islands.
