My wife kathy just gave birth to a baby boy 9-15-05.Just 8 days later we are fleeing form a cat.4 hurricane that is in the gulf of mexico,headed for texas,louisiana coast.We went to my mother\'s house in lufkin,and the next morning hurricane rita had hit our coast,not thinking the hurricane could come as far as lufkin,ohh but she did!!myself,wife and 5 kids,listened to falling trees rain and high winds,no T.V nor elec. it was hot,humid.the only one not complaining was the 9 day old baby,trying to keep him hydrated I gave him water,he choked on the water he was not breathing, I called 911 the said there was nothing they could do but talk me through cpr.when we retuning home there was dead animals all over road,and I thought about my horses that I had to leave behind, hoping they were ok.we got to our house and there was trees all over the yard and there was one big oak tree laid over in our house and we went in and the living room was crushed, we had 37 tree down in just are 3 acres in are pasture not including in the house or in front yard. we contacted our insurance agent to find out that we did not have windstorm coverage, so then we went to fema after get two r.v trailers from them, we find out that we did purchase windstorm insurance and the agent just failed to pay the texas windstorm policy. so basicly they stold our money put it in there pocket,well we fought with fema for months finally they paid us $2270.00 to fix our house,after we had to pay a ingineer to come out and estimate damages which est. damages was $75,000.00.we are in a law suit with the insuarce agent still today 9-14-06.and house is now totaled because we don\'t have $161,000.00 to rebuild it.
