Below I have posted an email that I wrote the morning of the August 30th to let everyone know that I evacuated to Natchitoches, LA and was ok. \r\nIt is strange to look at it now and realize how little I actually knew about what was happening to my adopted home city at the time. I will never forget that week and the feelings of sadness, confusion, frustration and helplessness that I felt. \r\n\r\n\r\nHey People,\r\nMy phone has been spotty so I am going to send a quick email to let you all know that I am up in North Louisiana and doing fine. We are starting to realize the devestation that is involved from this Hurricane. The city of New Orleans is continuing to flood which seems to be the main problem. The wind damage is there but not nearly as bad as the structural damage Mississippi saw. Morgan had rode the storm out and is now headed North with his family because of the rising water level in the city. One of the levees has been breached and the city continues to fill up in water. It will be probably at least weeks before we can go back home, and at least a month or so before electricty. We will just be patient and prepare to help in any way possible when we can. Hope all is well and I love you all very much. \r\nTake care,\r\nRyan
