First Free Mission Baptist Church is an African American church in New Orleans located at 919 Adams Street, Reverend Melvin Collins, III is pastor. The church is listed on the National Historical Register. The church was organized in 1868. Hurricane Katrina affected the church in such a way that it blew out the stained glass windows which stood approximately 17foot vertical. The church has served the carrollton community for 136 years with its emphasis on christianity, good moral standing and education withing the African-American community.
