Daniel Graff\r\nEngl-1156\r\n26 August 2006\r\n As of right now, I am pretty much the same person as I was before the storm hit. Only a little damage affected my house, which is located on the Kenner, Metairie border. Yes, some houses did flood, but it has not placed me into negative spirits. The only noticeable change in myself is my financial status as a teenager. I was not attending school at the time after the hurricane hit which enabled me to obtain a job in the beginning of September working construction. As you already know the demand for reconstruction in New Orleans was at an all time high and construction workers were being paid almost triple what they were getting paid before the storm. I was only eight-teen years old making more money than some of the teachers I had teach me my senior year of high school. Even though it was an extremely tough job having to wake up everyday at the break of dawn and working up to fifty hour a week, it was worth it at the end of the week when I got paid in cash. Not to mention I was living at home, so I was free of paying any bills, which made it possible to save my hard earned money so I could afford my college tuition and receive a college education.\r\n
