It has been a year since Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. The impact of Katrina took a great toll on my family and myself emotionally and financially. I would consider us as the lucky ones. I stayed on the west bank of New Orleans and we only received wind damages. The wind had blown a part of our roof off causing flooding in one of the rooms. After the storm we had share backyards with our neighbors since the fences were all scattered on the street. The fresh color fruits and flowers that use to paint our colorful backyard were all washed away.
