I am living in the same house. Fortunately, my house did not take much damage. I live in Metairie. There was debris everywhere from the large oak tree in front of my house that i had to clean up when i got back. There was no flooding on my block, thankfully. My family did although take a hit financially because my dad is a court reporter and the legal system took a while to recover after the storm. My dad was doing construction for months after the storm, like gutting houses because thats where the work was. Now he is back to work court reporting because it started to pick up again. I gutted houses for a few weeks after the storm for a short period of time also, before my highschool reopened. I gutted houses in Metairie off of west esplanade near the lake. It was hard work and i made some money doing it. \r\n
