From August 29th to November 2nd, during the time of Katrina, if I remember correctly, my whole family was in Texas, including one of my sisters who is rarely home. Our house, which is in New Orleans, was flooded. That eventually led us to evacuate to Houston, Texas. At Texas we barely did anything during that time because of our limited resources, and renting a home was ridiculously expensive. We got lucky and found a place to stay for free, thanks to my dad kindness. He helped a family get their food stamps from Hong Kong Mall, and got offered to stay with them. It was a pretty nice house, however nothing can compare to home. We had to share it with other families too. Sharing wasn\'t the only issue, but we had to sleep on the carpet with just a blanket over it. My family has 5 drivers and yet only 1 car. It wasn\'t a fun evacuation, nothing to do and nowhere to go. The worst part was hearing news about New Orleans while feeling bitter and weren\'t allow to go back. Even though Katrina costs us a great deal of money and time, I am grateful that it occurred. It was once in every five years family reunion and I got to meet a girl whom I am dating right now.
