It seemed like another ordinary day in Virginia. I hadn\'t paid much attention to the hurricane, thinking that it may have just been another storm passing by. It wasn\'t until I was getting ready to leave for school did I find out the severity of the storm on CNN news. Although I was not physically affected by Hurricane Katrina, but from the news I could tell that millions of people were negatively impacted and had to evacuate from their homes. Over the next few months, everywhere I went people were collecting contributions to help make a little difference to those families in need. The company I work for made contributions to help the families affected by the hurricane. For every dollar we contributed, our company would contribute double the amount. It turned out to be very successful because everyone wanted to help out. \r\n It\'s been a little over a year since the catastrophic event and even till today there are still many families struggling to rebuild what the hurricane had destroyed, but it\'s good to see that the contributions have helped many families through this time of hardship.
