I got on campus today at 6 a.m. because I was worried that I wouldn\'t find a parking spot. Turns out I erred on the side of excess, but I would rather that than not be able to find a spot & be late to the mandatory faculty meeting we had at 8 a.m. \r\n\r\nAround 7 a.m. I went down to look at the campus. There was little foot traffic on campus, but the street in front of my building was buzzing with cars. Headlight after headlight streaming down the \"restricted access campus street.\" \r\n\r\nI went out again on campus around 10 a.m. to be shocked by the quietness of campus. Few cars at this time - which is actually the opposite of what you would get during a normal day on campus. Even more surprising was that I had to look about 3 blocks down just to set my eyes on a student. For all intents & purposes, campus was deserted. \r\n\r\nI go back into the classroom tomorrow. It will be interesting to see if my anecdotal observation of the state of LSU holds through tomorrow & the week.
