Online Story Contribution, Hurricane Digital Memory Bank

The Thursday before the hurricane, my dad picked me and my brothers up from school and told us to pack our things for a couple days. We didn\'t really think anything of it because it wasnt supposed to hit directly where we lived. We left late that Thursday night and were on our way to Austin when news reports started saying how the hurricane was changing direction and heading for our home. Turns out the eye of the hurricane passed straight through our little town of Vidor. When we finally made it home to see the damage caused by the storm the power had been out for about a week and everything was a total mess, not to mention the refridgerators smelled awful. That day, we cleaned out the fridges and packed our things to head for a resort in Florida while my dad stayed back and managed things at the house. The whole thing ended up being a really fun vacaction for me. A couple weeks later we returned home and everything went back to normal.
