Online Story Contribution, Hurricane Digital Memory Bank

i left Vidor on Wednesday the day before we had mandatory evacuation. My parents picked me up from school early and i went straight home and packed all of our belongings that we could put in our vehicles. We went to Huntsville, Texas and stayed with my aunt and uncle. My mom and stepdad stayed in Vidor so i went with my dad. I couldnt get in touch with her after the hurricane hit because the power was out and there was no way of her reaching us but by cell phone. my dad and brother-in-law went back home to make sure our house was ok. my mom called and told me that the house was fine but we just lost our carport, and a whole bunch of trees. my dad\'s home was fine. i stayed with my stepmom and stepsister for about 2 weeks in a motel that fema got us. it was ok i just missed home so much. we returned back home after the news said it was ok. i was so glad that i was home.
