Prayer For The Evacuees

I can see at a distance - heartaches, city ruins\r\nDevastations of good times once had - but yet\r\nI choose to gaze into the distant future\r\nWhere I envision busy sidewalks, renovated buildings\r\nSmiling faces, instead\r\n\r\nAs I look into the barren streets\r\nWhere now instead the stagnant waters flow\r\nI hear the moaning cries of people hurting so\r\nBut yet, I choose to think about the day when\r\nRescue comes my way, mending hurts\r\nReuniting families again someday\r\n\r\nAs I see the helping hands of Angels mend\r\nThe hurting hearts of those who\'ve lost family and friends\r\nBut yet, I can\'t help but wonder why\r\nOur Almighty Father allows his children to suffer and die\r\nBut then I look into the past of years gone by\r\nSeeing how God, our Heavenly Father\r\nAllowed his very own son to die\r\n\r\nSo God, grant me the faith to better understand\r\nThat my heartaches are a part of your great plan\r\nHelp me be thankful of angels sent\r\nTo aid me in my time of need, and not resent them\r\nHelp me not blame others for my pain\r\nBut rather give me the courage to accept what I can\'t change\r\n\r\nDo not allow evil to devour me from within\r\nLeaving my doubting, weary soul darkened to sin\r\nFor Satan preys on the weakened soul\r\nAs it wallows in self-pity and grows cold\r\nSo God, grant me the strength I need to carry on\r\nAnd the faith I need to mend\r\nSo that I can take up my cross and follow you\r\n\r\nIn God\'s name I ask...\r\n\r\nAmen\r\n
