This is the woman who took my entire family in when we evacuated from New Orleans. She is the mother of a boy that my older sister knew from college; she was a stranger to us. Fortunately she was the kindest stranger we could have met because for a little more than a month she let my parents, my grandmother, and me stay with her in her home in Denham Springs, LA. As well as our family, she also had no problem with our 4 cats and 3 large dogs (which stayed outside). In the month that we stayed at her home, she went from being a complete stranger to almost family. Although we were lucky, and didn\'t receive too much damage from the storm, I will forever be grateful to this amazing woman who provided us with a home when we didn\'t have one of our own.
