I just remember waking up that Saturday before it hit and having to get out of town as fast as possible. I thought it would be a regular evacuation, with me leaving town for a day or two, and returning with little or no damage done. Boy was I wrong! I ended up staying in Baton Rouge a lot longer than expected. I was lucky enough to have some friends enrolled at LSU with a place for me to stay. I found a job at a local bar for some income while I was living there. It was in all eight guys and two dogs living in a three bedroom apartment. Then when Rita hit we lost about a day or two of power, which was miserable. Watching the Saints and LSU tigers play football helped all of us pass time. When they cleared us to return back to the city, my brother and I\'s Magazine apartment had little or no damage. My parents house in Metairie had little damage as well. So it didn\'t effect me in that way at all. To help the city rebuild and recover my brother and I started a gutting business to help the community get their lives back together, while giving us some extra income in the process. I\'ve been back in the city I love ever since and will never forget those tragic times four years ago as long as I live.
