In front of my parents\' home, there were always three tall pine trees. These trees covered the sidewalk, our cars, and driveway with their needles and spores, which aggravated my mother. She wanted to have them cut so many times but because of their location they belonged to the city, which would not cut living trees down. Katrina damaged one of the trees and it had to be cut down. The loss of the tree symbolizes life post-Katrina things are similar but not quite the same. We still have trees but not as many as we used to have.
