Hurricanes have always been a type of disaster that we would look at from a distance, not being from the region. When Katrina hit, I remember looking at the television wondering what was happening, or worse, what was NOT happening and where was the help that the richest country in the world certainly owed its ctizens. Never will I be able to understand the pain and horror that those affected had to go through, but from an outside point of view it seems as though if New Orleans is little by little recovering it is mainly due to the courage, strength and perseverance of its people. \r\n
