I am an insurance adjuster who worked in the Slidell area of Louisiana. One factor in working claims in the area was the lack of telephone service which made it difficult to contact the insureds. A second factor was due to power outages in the area, some people were not returning home right after the storm. The thing I remember the most besides the complete devestation of Treasure Island, Eden Isle and the other areas of Slidell was the incredible kindness shown by the people of Slidell. I remember going to someone\'s home to assist in settling their claim and despite the damages and lost personal property, the people of Slidell were very patient, kind and just very nice to work with. In a time where we hear the negative side of people and the way some feel mistreated, it was nice to have been in a community where people are genuinely nice. My hat is off to the people of Slidell, from the clerks at the area stores, to the servers and bus people at the local eating establishments. All of you should be proud of your little City by the Lake, because I feel priveledged to have called Slidell home for the short period of time I was there.
