I grew up in Long Island, New York. When choosing which college to attend I chose one in New Orleans, Louisiana. I chose to go to school in New Orleans because I wanted to have the opportunity to experience a different culture. Little did I know hurricanes happened often in the Gulf Coast area. My first week of classes my freshman year in 2008, I got evacuated for hurricane Gustav, thankfully is wasn\'t as bad as hurricane Katrina, but it still was one of the most frightening experiences of my life. My family in the Northeast were worried about me. I flew home to New York for evacuation and I was on \"hurrication\" for two weeks until classes resumed. \r\n
