Recently I caught the middle of an NPR news segment regarding bodies found, and I had to wait for some clues in order to know whether the topic was Iraq or New Orleans. When the professional radio voice ended a lengthy section of narration, the NO dialects came through. The coverage of crime these last several months documents the latest problems affecting New Orleans. I would have welcomed the close attention if they had been doing this during the last 20 years of economic struggles pre-Katrina. However, post-Katrina these reports also help even more people, businesses, and government representatives beyond the city to feel less concerned about giving up on the city\'s future. Meanwhile, Iraq is a lost cause we won\'t back away from.
