My family and I evacuated to Louisania, it took us a pretty long time to get there it usually takes us 2 and a half hours and it took us 16 hours to get to my uncles house. When we got there my aunt also had all her family there and my side of the family was there too. So there was about 22 people in a 3 bedroom cabin and 5 dogs and 3 cats. It was definitely squished. We were up there until the day after the hurricane cause my aunt, my cousin, my uncle and I wanted to see what the house looked like. While it took us forever to get home we were talking about what its gonna look like when we get home.....there where trees everywhere and power lines down and everything. Three trees fell through my house and our insurance wouldnt help much so we pretty much have to fix it on our own. The drinks were hott, it was hott, we could only use the generator at night so it ouldnt be hott cause we couldnt sleep in the hott. Everything was horrible it was definitely a disaster. I am 16 years old and i can really say this was the worst experiecnce of my life. There were people stealing generators from people cause they were so miserable. There were people with out food and water, who didnt have the gas for their vehicles and couldnt get a ride to the red cross, where they were giving out food. I am glad that none of my family was hurt and i pray everynight for the lost love ones and i hope everyone learned something from this experience cause i sure did....be greatful for the things you have...and hold the love ones you have close! Thank!
