i evacuated from hurricane Rita on Friday when every one was told to evacuate on Thursday. At first we were not even goin to leave because we really didn\'t believe it that would really happen to us. By time we packed up and headed out it seemed as if everyone decided to leave at the same time. There were cars lined up down the road for miles. We didn\'t think we were ever goin to get out of there in time. At first we didn\'t even know where we were goin to go all we knew was that we were gettin out of there. After awhile my parents decided to go to Kentucky becuase we have family up there. Usually it takes about 6 hours to get there but this time it took double the time i would say about 12 hours. We stayed up there for about a week we couldn\'t bare to stay away from home any longer. Not knowing if our house was ok was killing us. It took awhile till we could get to our house. When we got to it we found our house to have nothing wrong with it we were one of the lucky ones.
