We evacuated 2 days before Rita planning to go to Atoka, OK, when we left we had six cars in our family and as we began our evacuation and a song appropriate for the occasion, Convoy. Though It took my family and I 10 hours to get to Jasper where we stayed the night in the truck at a gas station/ Popeye\'s, along with our 4 horses. And about 5 o\'clock in the morning the manager from Popeye\'s came and was handing out cups of ice water to everyone. I guess because I was a girl he treated me to a pepsi (he specifically told me I looked like the pepsi type!) While he was handing out drinks, My cousin and I were looking in the store a pictures of chicken. So when the man came back we asked for an apple pie, they were sold out, and he came back with one mississippi mud pie--for me. Crazy! After charging cell phones in the store we headed out to Woodville where we waited out Rita and went through 5 tornados. We came back the day after to find no trees standing.....all of them lying facing the direction the hurricane came. Luckily our house was fine though it was tough without electricity!!
