We evacuated to Lake Texoma in North Texas, and we stayed there for about two and a half weeks. My mother wanted to know what happened to our home so we came home. As we drove into our hometown,Vidor, we couldn\'t believe our eyes, everything was a mess. Trees were scattered everywhere, roofs blown off buildings, trees blown through roofs. We were one of the lucky ones. The only thing wrong with our home was a piece of tin had been torn off our porch and there was a big oak tree in our front yard blocking our driveway. We had to cut most of the branches away with the chainsaw we had with us, then we walked to our front door and we were greeted with the most putrid smell I have ever smelled. I don\'t think I will ever forget that smell. It was the smell of death. Not a person but kittens. Our cat had gotten out of the house and had her kittens underneath our porch and they had all died.
