I am 16 years old and from VIdor, Texas. When my family heard about the hurricane, we were all very scared. People had different opinions about the hurricane. Some thought that it was going to hit and others thought not, but we weren\'t going to stay to find out. My mom came and got me out early from school on a Wednesday, the day before we were called for a manditory evacuation. My mom,Nana, Papa,Granny, cousins, uncles, and little brothers and I went home right after school, got everything we needed and wanted to keep and we headed for Fort Worth. My cousin has a house in Forth Worth and he invited us to live there for as long as we needed. Four familes living in a house with only 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms, it was hard. The only thing we had was each other to lean on. My dad stayed throught the hurricane and called us if anything went wrong with our house. We stayed there for 3 months and we were all worried about our homes. We watched the news every minute. Finally, it was all over. Police finally let us in and it was very devestating. There were trees and debris everywhere. I would never think that this would happen to us. Luckily ,our house had no damage, just a few chingles missing, nothing major. My dad was okay and I had my family, that\'s all that mattered to me. But I can sit here and say that I survived Hurrican Rita. I can tell my grandchildren that I survived the biggest, record breaking hurricane in history.
