My name is Skylar Hansen and I\'m 16 years old I live in Vidor Tx. and this was my first hurricane. When everyone was notified that the hurricane was heading right for us it was a mandatory evauation and everyone was told to get out. It was a wednesday and I was at school and i had to leave school early to go home and pack. My family left my house that next morning and and we went to go get gas and almost every gas station was out of gas and finally my dad found a little country store and we got gas and went on the road. We were heading to Waco Tx. but the raido said if you have a place to go get there quick. People were all over the road, animals and people were literally dying because of no gas and no place to go. Finally we got a brake from traffic and we broke down because or bad gas. That happened seven times before this guy found us and towed us to his house and he was a car fixer and he gave us drinks and took us to my uncles house right down the road in Diboll and that is where we stayed and that is right out of lufkin and it took us seven hours to get there and we stayed there for two weeks and when the hurricane hit we lost electricity for like three days and when we came home my huge pine trees missed my house by two feet and some one broke into my house but they just slept there but every thing else was ok.
