I volunteered with a group of college students during spring break in Mississippi. I had been in Ocean Springs over Christmas seeing family. At that time they were just beginning to repair their homes. Going to Waveland was like being thrown back to Christmas. I expected things to look very different 3 and a half months later, but I was shocked at how much still needed to be done. We spent 1 day cleaning up a stretch of beach front and accomplished alot. We spent a second day helping to cleanup yards. Unfortunately, we had taken a bus down and could only spend 2 and a half days there. It was not enough. Hopefully, volunteers are continuing in the effort!! It is still much needed.
